welcome to merry mailings: letters from under hill.

* this is the international version of the mail club offering *

merry mailings is a monthly snail mail club that seeks to transport you to the slow, intentional, and seasonal living of the shire.

each month you will receive a letter from the desk of mr. bilbo baggins himself, talking about how he and his fellow hobbits celebrate the seasons or holidays. because mr. bilbo has many friends across middle-earth, some months will feature a "guest writer" who talks about a holiday or season celebrated in their own part of arda.  

every month will include a letter and then 2 or 3 of the following:

• recipe card
• art print
• linocut print
• vinyl sticker
• sticker sheet
• playlist card

shipping is included in the price of the club and letters are shipped with stamps (untracked.) 

every quarter you will receive an edition that is themed to a season of the shire and this will happen the month before the season begins (autumn edition is sent in august, winter in november, etc.) this special edition will feature a newsletter that includes ideas for celebrating the current season: a foraging guide, craft ideas, upcoming middle-earth holidays to celebrate, and more! the seasons will follow the northern hemisphere timing and while i will try to be as inclusive as possible, please note that some of the ideas (particularly the foraging) will be more specific to a temperate climate. 

outside of the seasonal editions of merry mailings, the usual monthly letters will be centered on a holiday celebrated in the shire or somewhere else in middle-earth. while some holidays will repeat over the years, you will never receive the exact same editions or items twice.

***AS A NOTE: please bear in mind that international shipping takes longer. because of this, some months you might receive your letter AFTER the date of the holiday being talked about in the letter. you are still more than welcome to celebrate the holiday at any time, i just want to make sure no one is disappointed if the timing doesn't always work out. ***

when is merry mailings billed?

the merry mailings subscription is billed the first of the month, no matter when you first started the subscription. ideally i would recommend that if you want to receive a particular month's letter, you start the subscription by 11:59pm (ct) of the 5th of the month. most months the letters will be posted around the 6th, which means that they will hopefully reach you in time to celebrate the month's festivities. if you purchase after the 5th, you will still receive that month's letter, just not as promptly. for each month you will have from the 1st until the 26th of the month to purchase that month's letter. after the 26th, you will be purchasing the next month's letter. for example, if you purchase september 27th, you will receive october's letter. 

when will my letter arrive?

you letter is being sent via usps untracked mail. their estimated delivery time for international shipping is between 7 to 21 business days.

can i update my address?

yes, you can update your address, as well as payment info from the customer portal. you can log into this with the email address you used to sign up for the subscription.

what if my letter never arrived?

if it's been more than five weeks and your letter still hasn't arrived, email me at thelastkindlyhome@gmail.com.

will my letter ship at the same time as other products i purchase?

no, because this is a subscription, it only will mail out at select times. if you purchased other items those will ship separately.
